PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Turnkey Design and Construction Manager for a full replacement of the exterior lighting system with color-changing theme lighting as well as the full replacement of all existing interior lighting in all Plaza Buildings with a controllable LED system. The interior scope included the replacement of over 20,000 light fixtures.
Due to the critical nature of the Plaza and the high-profile nature of the project, coordination was extremely important. As part of this project, we were responsible for construction within several high-security areas (i.e., Senator’s offices, Assembly Member’s offices, Data Centers, etc.). To ensure the construction was performed safely, most work was completed 2nd shift.
The Plaza Lighting outdoor project was very high-profile and was unveiled as part of Governor Hochul’s 2021 Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. Guth DeConzo coordinated all the final testing and Commissioning of the lighting controls after 10 PM, so as to not alert the greater public of the high-profile project, since OGS wanted the unveiling to be a total surprise.
