PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Construction Manager for a campus-wide HVAC modernization of 11 buildings, including the replacement of the existing BMS control system. Modernization of the Lab Control and HVAC system within 256 labs. Scope included modifications to the supply, exhaust, and fume hood exhaust systems, installation of a fully operational BMS system, installation of an Aircuity air quality control system, relocation and replacement of building reheat coils, retro-commissioning of existing systems to integrate with new controls, plus sealing all building ductwork. The project also includes replacing more than 30,000 existing lighting fixtures in all Residence Hall Buildings with LED equivalents.
Given the existing conditions of research and teaching labs, the project required a significant amount of coordination for the construction phase. The project was bid under multiple bid packages with Guth DeConzo directly managing eleven subcontractors and material/equipment suppliers. The project was completed in Fall 2021 with a total construction duration of 140 weeks.
